In Their Own Words: TVSEEF
Please join us in voting for Proposition 467.
The Tanque Verde Schools Educational Enrichment Foundation has helped the outstanding TVUSD schools offer technology and arts programs normally found in larger school districts for 32 years.
However, in the past five years we have received numerous requests from educators for teaching essentials like class sets of textbooks and softball mitts. TVSEEF and the elementary PTGs even helped the district fund its wireless internet that students need for required state testing. Instead of assisting, the state has further removed $4.4 million from our district's capital allotment since 2008.
TVUSD has done a fantastic job managing our tax dollars by deferring maintenance and infrastructure replacement, purchasing used buses, and obtaining grants for solar panels to lower our energy costs, but each year our state funding continues to decrease. Let's be the solution to our own problems. Let's vote local, take control of our funding, and help ensure we have safe and excelling schools in our district.
Thanks to TVSEEF sponsors and event participants we usually donate $30,000 per year to the district. Help us make a bigger impact in 2018 and vote yes for the TVUSD bond, proposition 467.

In Their Words is a series in which we share letters written in support of the Budget Override and Bond ballot measures. These letters will appear in the Voter Information Packet provided by Pima County to voters. We will also include original missives by members of the Tanque Verde community.
